November - December 2024 Featured Artist

Ron Ames is a photographer in Frederick, Maryland.  His solo show “Impressions of Frederick:  Reimagining Perception” at the Delaplaine Arts Center, runs from November 2 to December 29, 2024.  We were honored when Ron asked us to print his images for this show on our Canvas Gallery Wrap Plus.  Be sure to stop by the Delaplaine to view Ron’s stunning photography soon!

More about Ron:

After retiring in 2016, Ron studied mobile photography with Emil Pakarklis and Mark Hemmings.  He also graduated from the Judging Certification Program created by the Maryland Photography Alliance, made up of twenty-five Camera Clubs in Maryland, and continues to be involved in juried shows.  Some of his collectors live in Latvia, England, California, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Frederick, Maryland.

Ron also studied with Stephanie Johnson, founder, creator, and publisher of ICM Photography Magazine, a first-of-it’s-kind e-magazine solely featuring ICM (Intentional Camera Movement) images in a quarterly feature-packed digital format.

He is a frequent contributor to the e-magazine.  One of his mobile ICM abstract images was chosen to be the cover of the 2024 March issue, which was the first time that a mobile phone image has been chosen for that purpose since the creation of the magazine.

Ron and his wife moved to Frederick in 2021 to be near their grandchildren.  He currently teaches ICM creative photography workshops at the Delaplaine Arts Center.
